SPRING/Bangladesh Launches Facebook Page for Local Nutrition and Hygiene Discussions

Bangladesh has seen a surge in the number of Internet users, but for many people in the country, the use of Internet is limited to Facebook. With this in mind, SPRING/Bangladesh has launched its own Facebook page. This will further strengthen the project’s connection with the local audience with bilingual content and also build an online community that can take part in discussions and debates on nutrition and hygiene. The page will also serve as a platform for SPRING/Bangladesh staff members to share stories from the field.

SPRING/Bangladesh engages with communities on nutrition in many different ways, both through government channels as well as through its own direct interventions. Since its inception in 2012, SPRING/Bangladesh has established more than 5,000 Farmer Nutrition Schools, directly supporting more than 100,000 pregnant and lactating women and caregivers of children under two across a wide geographic range of Southern Bangladesh. In order to further its reach and expand its ability to share its story and lessons learned, SPRING is increasing its efforts to share its messages and raise awareness, especially among people in Bangladesh, in a more dynamic, digital space.
