SPRING Pulls Crowds at the ‘Nutrition Olympics’

SPRING round-table discussion during ICN Satellite Symposium

Some of the best and brightest nutrition minds gathered from across the world, convening in Granada, Spain, over six days in September for the 20th International Congress on Nutrition (ICN). In addition to 12 original research posters or presentations, SPRING drew on its technical resources to organize and convene two symposia during the Congress, attended by over 200 researchers, implementers, policy-makers, and students.

Alongside presentations on integrated nutrition programs in Ethiopia, Nepal, and Bangladesh, the symposia gave voice to notable figures from Emory University and University of California, Davis, who delivered critical information on progress and challenges within the international nutrition sphere and emphasized the increasing importance of a life-cycle approach to nutrition. Of particular importance were eight round-table discussions that let participants ‘dig deep’ into their areas of interest, exchanging information and experience on topics like social and behavior change communication, agriculture-nutrition integration, and adolescent nutrition, to name a few.

SPRING is proud to have contributed its own research to the ICN, and to have worked in tandem with other implementers, organizations, and universities to facilitate the symposia. Please visit our ICN page to access all presentations and related materials, and check back all through October as SPRING shares each of its conference posters.
